Nissan has an impressive history of technological innovation, which grows longer every year. As your Nissan dealership, we want to tell you about some of the many tech features you’ll find in 2025 Nissan models.

Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)

A regular transmission uses fixed gears and numerous fast-moving components to convert the raw energy produced by the engine into a usable form and direct it to the wheels so they can move at the required speed. The gear movements are controlled by either a transmission control unit in automatic transmissions or by the driver using a gear stick in a manual transmission.

The Xtronic CVT takes transmission operations to the next level using variable-diameter pulleys and a belt to create a continuous range of gears instead of being restricted to fixed gear movements. This provides smoother and faster gear changes and requires fewer transmission components. Fewer components reduce the time and cost of a transmission service, reduce heat in the transmission, and the wear and tear it causes, and increase fuel economy.

ProPILOT Park

Park assist systems are installed in many Nissan models. They use a camera and sensors to help you park your Nissan easily by detecting possible obstructions and providing real-time guidelines to assist you. The 2025 Nissan Ariya, however, features the revolutionary ProPILOT Park system that takes the stress and hassle out of parking by enabling your vehicle to park itself.

When you activate ProPILOT Park, twelve sensors positioned around your vehicle scan the surrounding area. They are backed up by cameras that will identify a parking spot and display it on the screen. Once you confirm the selected space, ProPILOT Park takes over to control the steering, gear shifting, and brakes as it maneuvers into the parking space. Once inside the space, it engages the parking brake to signal that parking is complete.

Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM)

Cameras are a standard feature on many vehicles and help to keep you within the lane lines on the road, identify traffic signs, and perform many other functions. I-AVM uses four wide-angle cameras, mounted on the front, rear, and both sideview mirrors, to provide a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of the area around your vehicle.

Advanced algorithms stitch the four images together and update them in real-time, making it easier to maneuver at low speed, for example, reversing out of your driveway or moving into a parking space. I-AVM also includes motion detection and can identify moving vehicles, people, or animals. If something is detected, you’ll hear a warning chime, and an icon will appear on your screen to identify the object’s position.
